SLCU in Germany

The chairman of the SLCU Mr Mohamed Tislimi Bangura was accompanied in Germany on the 11th of April 2010 by Mr. Lamin Sesay Treasurer, Mr Abdul Malik Cee Social Secretary and Mr Brima Y Kanu adviser/ elders. The purpose of the journey is to promote the activities of the SLCU especially the 49th Independent Anniversary which is closely around the corner.

The focus was to strengthen mutual contact with the Sierra Leone organisation based in Germany . Regards with the remarks of the Chairman he emphasized the need of peace and unity among Sierra Leoneans living in the Diaspora, he praised the effort of Sierra Leoneans who are engaged in building bridges in the socio development of Sierra Leone . The contingent   further re-emphasized the need for reunification among Sierra Leoneans living in Germany . Seeing Sierra/ Germans with various social fractions like Panhecs, United Sisters of NRW, 3 Eyes and Cassandra all posing challenges among members of disputed fractions.

Advice was given to Panhecs members to strike a compromise and to re-established  dialogue among the disputed fraction, Seeing Panhecs as the oldest organization in Germany founded in 1997 with over 200 members now only 10 members can run the affairs of the  organization all other members had break away to form fractions.

The SLCU was admired and appreciated in its effort to work in oneness in Holland . The plan of activities was stated clearly by Social Secretary for the Independent Anniversary, Symposium followed by the Outing in June He mentioned clearly to Panhecs members that, the SLCU Members can support forth coming events in Germany only once and not in four occasions so members most reunited in Germany to cater for the full fledge support of SLCU.

The closing remarks were given by the senior Adviser of Panhecs Dr Sannor of which the SLCU delegation was disappointed although we are credited for a good will.
